Hello friends!
We wanted to let you know that there will be no 6pm Gathering in Wicker Park this Sunday (7/17). The primary reason for this change is an opportunity that our elders and staff are incredibly excited to invite you into! As you know, our church is currently in a sermon series entitled “The School of Missions” as we take time to practically explore what it means to be on mission with GOD for the people in the neighborhoods of this great city of Chicago. This series is crucial to our movement as disciples of JESUS who have been commanded to devote our lives to the work of making disciples. This Sunday evening, however, there is an opportunity for learning and being challenged that we just couldn’t pass up and we want to invite you to participate in it with us!
This Sunday evening at 6pm at our Wrigleyville campus (1242 W. Addison) Alan Hirsch, an author and speaker devoted to leading and equipping churches for mission, will be speaking to a collection of Christians from around Chicagoland. Specifically, Alan’s topic will be Activate: equipping and unleashing a permanent revolution (see more here). As I mentioned, this is an amazing opportunity for our community to hear from one of the premiere missiologists serving the church today. And, best of all, the event is entirely free!
In light of this opportunity, we wanted to call you to a few things:
1.) Consider joining the MissioDei family at one of our morning gatherings (9am in Wicker Park or 10:30am in Wrigleyville).
2.) We wholeheartedly encourage you to join us on Sunday evening to hear Alan speak to us about how to better fulfill the Great Commission JESUS gave us to ‘make disciples’ here in Chicago.
3.) Lastly, please help us get the word out about there being no service on Sunday night as well as the opportunity to hear from Alan Hirsch! We know this is a last minute change and need your help to keep our community informed!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at contact@missiodeichicago.com.

This is a missional event for the neighborhood of Wicker Park. Our heart is for those who don’t know JESUS to have an opportunity to experience some of HIS beauty this Advent season through song and visual art. We also pray and trust that this night will provoke GOSPEL conversations and relationships. Come and invite your friends and coworkers who love creativity but don’t yet know our CREATOR. The gallery opens at 7pm and the music begins at 8p – both at St. Paul’s Cultural Center, 2215 W North Ave. Got questions? Contact Matt: matt@missiodeichicago.com.

For the past several years GOD has been teaching our community about the importance of rest. Intentional times of rest allow us to re-focus on what is most important and they allow our souls, hearts, and bodies to be restored. In a word, rest creates space. Space for GOD to move, for us to hear HIS voice, and for us to better reflect HIS love to our families, friends, and to our city.
So, our encouragement to the MissioDei family is to take December 26th as an intentional time of rest. Slow down! Enjoy your family & friends as you celebrate the conclusion of another holiday season.
May GOD bless you this Christmas!
We’ll see you January 2nd when we resume our normal Sunday gatherings.
