MissioDei is latin. It means “mission of GOD.” And when we sought to name this community, it eventually rose to the top of our list. Not because it’s cool. Not because it’s trendy. And not even because it’s a little mysterious. It’s because of what it means. See, what we quickly came to see was that this “mission of GOD” name speaks to who we are, as followers of JESUS:

We are GOD’s mission.
The scriptures tell us, and the life of JESUS shows us, that GOD’s love for us is so great that HE stopped at nothing to overcome evil and to restore us to relationship with HIM. Not even the painful sacrifice of HIS beloved SON. Because relationship is everything to GOD, HE continues to move toward us, and show HIMSELF to us, in the hopes of our drawing near to HIM. In that way, we are HIS mission.

We are on GOD’s mission.
As we grow in relationship with GOD through JESUS, we begin to experience life in a new way. Living under HIS care, we see our lives transformed to be ones marked by love, peace, joy and hope. Throughout, GOD invites us to join HIM by sharing this with the people HE’s placed in our lives. In this way, we are on mission with HIM – to bring HIS radical love to a world that so badly needs it.
